One of the favorite movies to watch a Saturday among friends is undoubtedly Mean Girls, starring -in her wonderful years- Lindsay Lohan, Tina Fey and Rachel McAdams, and who even introduced us to jewelry like the incredible Amanda Seyfried.

14 years after its premiere, the army of tarada, we, all its fans, celebrate their anniversary, but this time in the most special way: dressed in pink! Do not you believe it? Here is the fun coincidence that will have the culture of heavy girls in 2018 thanks to October 3.

Today October 3 is known as #MeanGirlsDay given to a famous scene from the movie “Mean Girls” in which its protagonist Cady (Lindsay Lohan) tells what day is Aaron Samuels (Jonathan Bennett). October 3 is not a normal day. It is the day of “Chicas posadas” (Mean Girls), a film that this year turned 14 years since its premiere.
For a couple of years, fans of the film celebrate this day dressing in pink and leaving comments on social networks.

Although there are some that remain the same, there are others who have changed their physical appearance a lot or who have even taken other paths away from acting. The commemoration originated from a scene in the film that showed “Cady Heron” (Lindsay Lohan) writing in her notebook and the boy who liked “Aaron Samuels” (Jonathan Bennett) asked her what day it was and she answered “3 of October. ”

“Chicas Pesadas”, tells the story of a girl who lived in Africa with her parents but one day they move to the city, where the girl goes to school hoping to fit into society and a group of popular girls where she must appear a new life.

Starring Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, Amanda Seyfried, and Lizzy Caplan, the film made such an impact on teenagers that many consider it a cult youth comedy.

LINDSAY LOHAN (CADY HERON)

Lindsay Lohan played “Cady Heron”, a transfer student from Africa who quickly learns the rules of the girls’ world during her first year in high school.

Child and adolescent actress, Lohan became a star with her roles in films such as “Chicas pesadas”, “Viernes de locos” and “Juego de twins”. However, she became better known for her controversial life, which led her to have several legal problems and periods in rehabilitation.

RACHEL MCADAMS (REGINA GEORGE)

The queen of the bad girls, “Regina George”, was played by Rachel McAdams.

From “Chicas posadas”, McAdams has starred in such films as “Diario de Una pasiĆ³n”, “Los rompebodas”, “Votos de Amor” and “Spotlight”, the latter earned her an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress. In addition, it appeared in the second season of “True Detective” of HBO.

Currently, the actress stars with Rachel Weisz and Alessandro Nivola the film “Desobediencia”, the debut in English of the Chilean director Sebastian Lelio.

AMANDA SEYFRIED (KAREN SMITH)

Amanda Seyfried played the adorable but a little silly “Karen”, a friend of Regina and Gretchen. Seyfried’s performance caused some of Karen’s phrases (“I’m a mouse, Duh!”) To continue to this day.

After “Chicas posadas”, Amanda has participated in several movies. She starred in the musical “Mamma Mia!” and returned for the sequel of 2018. In 2012, she played Cosette in “Les Miserables”. LACEY CHABERT (GRETCHEN WIENERS)

Lacey Chabert played the third bad girl, “Gretchen Wieners”, whose father invented the Toaster Strudel. Although she seems to be a devoted friend, “Gretchen” harbors some resentment towards Regina.

The student of “Party of Five” has continued appearing in different action movies and television shows such as “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” and “Baby Daddy”, but mainly is dedicated to lending her voice to series and animated films.
